Formed in January 1995, the Environmental Sciences Association of Ireland (ESAI) is an association of individuals working in or with an interest in the environmental area in Ireland.
The association is growing steadily and relies entirely on volunteers to organise events and produce ESAI documents. Modest membership fees largely cover the production of the Newsletter, correspondence with members and help prime other association activities. The future of the association will ultimately depend on the membership - we welcome and encourage your input and help.
The association’s membership is drawn from all disciplines and sectors including biology, ecology, microbiology, engineering, chemistry and law (from professors to environmental consultancies to waste management companies to amateur naturalists!).
Since its inception the association has been strongly connected with the Irish environmental research community and organises the largest annual environmental research conference in Ireland, the Irish Environmental Researchers Colloquium or ENVIRON conference. This is the association’s main networking event each year.
The association relies entirely upon volunteers to organise events and produce ESAI documents. Membership fees largely cover the management of our organisation, supporting our communications platforms such as Newsletters, by email and via our social media platforms (Twitter, Linkedin and Facebook). This ensures our members are informed of environmental activities taking place across the country. The future of the association ultimately depends on the membership – we welcome and encourage your input and help.
This year’s Environmental Sciences Association AGM will be held during Environ 2024 in SETU Waterford. All are welcome. Date:...
