The association produces a Newsletter, Environews, two–three times a year which is issued free of charge to all members. It provides association news and information on activities, reviews publications of interest, describes activities of other environmental organisations, provides up-to-date information on new environmental projects, developments and opportunities, and provides articles on a range of issues such as professional affairs, employment and environmental education. Environews also runs a meetings diary, covering forthcoming environmental courses, meetings and workshops. The editor of Environews welcomes submissions and ideas for future issues.

Back issues of Environews are available on the environews archive. They are stored in Portable Document Format (PDF) so you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader 3.0 to view and print them. Adobe Acrobat Reader is available free from Adobe and most shareware archives.

The latest edition of Green Drinks will be held next Thursday evening (29th October) from 6.30 to 7.30pm at the Clarion Hotel as usual. For those of you who haven't made it to one of these events, which are held regularly on the last Thursday of every second month, Green Drinks is a social networking get together for anyone interested in, or working in the field of, green issues. This will be our fourth, and probably last, Green Drinks this year and we've all met or remeet some great people during the year.

More details of this successful series of events can be found here.

On this occasion, CEF is teaming up with Ethical Development Action (a Cork based voluntary development education group) to host a screening of 'THE FUTURE OF FOOD' after Green Drinks. This will be held in the L.V. Pub on MacCurtain St to mark the International Day of Climate Action and will start at 8pm.

The Future of Food examines the complex web of market and political forces that are changing what we eat as huge multinational corporations seek to control the world's food system. The film also explores alternatives to large-scale industrial agriculture, placing organic and sustainable agriculture as real solutions to the farm crisis today.

The International Day of Climate Action is organised by 350.org (350--as in parts per million, is the level scientists have identified as the safe upper limit for CO2 in our atmosphere. We are currently at 385 parts per million) in advance of the negotiations between global leaders on a new climate treaty in Copenhagen this December.

We look forward to seeing some of you there.
